Graduates 2023 and immune Faculty

On February 3, the Department of Biology and Pharmacy again celebrated the graduation of their students. 7 of our 14 iImmune graduates from 2023 also joined this event.
With a festive musical accompaniment, the graduates were honored by the Dean of Studies Prof. Lars Nitschke with a certificate and the titles of their Master’s theses were read out.
In addition to Prof. Nitschke, Prof. Nimmerjahn, spokesperson for the Master’s degree program and Prof. Anja Lux (Professor for Integrated Immunology) were also present and congratulated the graduates.
An additional highlight was the awarding of the Master’s prizes for the best graduates of 2023. In the Integrated Immunology degree program, this was Julia Zißler. Her outstanding Master’s thesis with the topic “How gut microbial metabolites modify astrocytic responses in Central Nervous System inflammation” and her previous academic achievements were honored with the Master’s Prize of the iImmune program and prize money of €500.
Following the ceremony, a small reception awaited the graduates, their families and the faculty, and the event came to a joyful close.
As the ceremony only takes place once a year, some of the graduates came from further afield. One graduate even came all the way from London, where he had already taken up his PhD position.

We congratulate all iImmune 2023 graduates and thank them for the wonderful time here with us. We wish you all the best for the future and look forward to staying in touch with you.
