Required documents for application

  • Secondary education certificate (proof of school education that allows entry to university)
  • University degree certificates with transcript of records – Please note that the certificates have been notarially certified and, if not available, have been translated into English, German or French. A grading scale is required!
    Please note!
    If the Bachelor’s degree has not yet been obtained, the following regulations apply:
    European and national applicants: must have at least 140 ECTS points on their transcript.
    Non-European applicants: must present at least an official transcript at the time of application, which includes all semesters except for their final semester. Please note: Enrolment is only possible if an official, certified final transcript is submitted by 30.9. at the latest (no provisional transcript is accepted here).
  • Proof of practical Bachelor thesis or an adequate Project
    Proof can be provided by:
    – transcript of records for the relevant bachelor’s degree program (if listed with title), or
    – confirmation about thesis registration from the university (if the thesis is not finished yet including date, title and institute of the institute the thesis is being performed, or
    – a summary of the thesis stating the title and the methods used, as well as confirmation from the respective institution where the project was carried out (e.g. in the case of a comparable scientific work)
    Please note: Laboratory rotations during or after the course of study or work in diagnostics or quality control in which the applicant does not work on a project assigned to him or her personally are not sufficient.
  • a complete CV (without gaps)
  • Proof of English proficiency at level B2 according to the Common European Framework Reference for Languages (applicants whose Bachelor’s degree was taught entirely in English can upload a confirmation from the university and do not have to provide any further proof)
  • Letter of application/Statement of purpose
  • GRE, GATE or GAT (applies to certain international applicants)
    Applicants with degrees from a country that is not a signatory state of the Lisbon Convention must submit a valid Graduate Record Examination (GRE) , a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering  (Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences or Biotechnology, Indian) or a GAT test certificate (Pakistan).
  • Additional docs
    Applicants from Pakistan, India, Vietnam and China must also submit the following with their application (these documents cannot be submitted later – non-submission will result in rejection)
    Pakistan: HEC certified documents
    India, China, Vietnam: APS certificate
